This week we have continued to build our classroom community by looking at the Learner Profiles and thinking about which attributes are our strengths and which ones we would like to work on. We have also begun exploring and recognising our feelings as they apply to our own identity.

In maths, we have created our own growing patterns and have begun to describe these patterns so we can eventually write a rule for out to increase or decrease a pattern.

It’s been a busy week of WIDA assessments; the students have been assessed in listening, speaking, writing and reading. The information gathered from these assessments as well as our own Grade 2 assessments will help us support your child in their own personal learning journey.

The students in Grade2SB love to read and listen to books, we read everyday and also work on our understanding of how the English language works. Recently, the students have listened to the fable: ‘The Boy Who Cried Wolf’, which explores the idea of truthfulness and being principled. They are retelling the story in their own words, thinking about which parts of the fable are the beginning, middle and end.
