For our grade 9 students, their preoccupation for the week had been the Periodic Table. Students have been studying properties of various elements in nature, the trends in the Periodic Table, and how these elements are able to form compounds. Science is incomplete without students having a feel of what they learn in the laboratory. In order to reinforce their learning, students had the opportunity to create some compounds in the lab. We will be ending the academic year for them with more laboratory activities in the coming weeks. It is expected that the lessons in year 9 will be a firm foundation for the students as they go to year 10 next academic year.
