Wow! What an amazing excursion to the Port! So much learning and experiences to be had! We did a small tour of the port and saw the tug boats and tankers. We also visited the Company Steinweg to see where the aggragate rock is processed and put onto the huge ships. We were so lucky to go to the port control and see the crazy large live digital map. We also met a real tug boat pilot! A HUGE thank you to Jakob, Ahmed, Hassan and Tim- all the Grade 1 fathers who organised this interesting experience and came to share their knowledge with us. There was so much to learn. We saw a ship that was 200 metres long. We learnt how the tugs move the ships. It was interesting to see the different stones and the model of the port. We also found out about the safety training that the operators have. Wow-we were so lucky.
