Writing laboratory investigative reports can be challenging for students, especially those for which English is not a native language. With guidance and the necessary support however, students can excel in this endeavor. This is what the grade 7s have been doing in science this week. We seek to enrich their knowledge by asking them to plan a lab/field activity to measure various environmental factors. They were allowed to work in groups which greatly enhanced students’ communication skills. There was the need to support their hypothesis with scientific literature and this was aimed at enhancing their research skills. Overall, it was an engaging week and the students look forward to carry out their planning in the coming days.
