This week in G7 Language Acquisition our focus has been on planning for talking and finding our voices. We have been paying attention to Communication and Self-Management ATL’s. Each member of the class has really thrown themselves into being risk-takers, critically thinking their way through solving the communication problems that they were presented with. We have engaged with a variety of different material and language scaffolding processes to do this. They have created and presented book reports on their library books. They have used graphic organizers to plan for both speaking and writing. Key academic concepts and language they have been developing their understanding of includes, organization and categorization, features of non-fiction texts that can support effective researching, as well as critical analysis of images and verbal justification of their thinking.

Next week we will build on this work by setting SMART goals across all four language domains (Speaking, Listening, Reading & Writing).
