This week we have started our second unit of the year. We will be reading ‘Animal Farm’ by George Orwell. This has been described the following: a satire, an allegory, a fable and a fairy story. Students have worked in pairs to investigate these genres and find out about their conventions. They then created posters to sheer with the rest of the group. During the unit we will be finding evidence for why the book has been described in those four terms. In addition we will be investigating propaganda and speech making.
