Dear KG2 Families,

Our whole classroom is a makerspace where we continuously design, build and make. However, our makerspace table is one of the most popular learning spaces in our environment. It is great to see that the children are not only learning how to use tools and manipulate materials to develop theories and reach their goals but also to build strong social and communication skills when sharing, taking turns, helping each other and bouncing ideas off each other.

This learning space supports our inquiry into materials and design and student-led learning in a natural way.

Our provocation for this week was a yummy one. The children were asked to design and create houses using tea biscuits and icing. They enjoyed creating with these materials however what they enjoyed the most was eating their fabulous and scrumptious creations.

Wishing you a lovely weekend.

Warm regards,

Mrs Nicholson and Ms Khadija
