Well…first of all we needed to learn how to say it!!  It’s not ‘hyper-bowl’ but ‘high-per-bol-ee’.  Just what is hyperbole I hear you ask.  Hyperbole is exaggeration in our writing to convince the reader to agree with us.  We’re not just hungry, we’re so hungry we could eat a horse.  We’re not just busy, we’re so busy it’s like EVERY teacher we have has given us twice as much work as usual.

Grade 4 has been using the OREO format as an introduction to writing persuasive texts. Opinion  Reason  Example  Opinion.  On Wednesday we went further and learnt how to use hyperbole in this writing.  What fun we had.  Some examples are attached below.
