Grade 9 I&S students have recently begun an interdisciplinary unit with English Language & Literature called Voices from History.  This unit of inquiry will explore a range of case studies related to historical examples of genocide and ethnic cleansing.  We will use I&S time to inquire into the various lessons and cautionary tales that society can derive from these dark moments in history.  We will also look at themes of human resilience and survival as we ultimately ask the question, “what is our collective responsibility to one another in society?”

Additionally, Grade 9 students are hard at work making a difference through a variety of Service as Action projects.  They have been asked to periodically record evidence and reflection in Managebac.  Please talk to your children about the many meaningful activities they are engaged in.  Please also take a moment to visit this student-produced website to see how you can contribute the important cause of spaying and neutering stray cats in our community: https://sites.google.com/d/16BA1kjU4FVPtb5LbQavK0Yej01HdY_RJ/p/1vlMQdaDyygSyv6Ld_-RnEO7DjnAUwsaZ/edit
