It has been a pleasure to meet Grade 7 and to begin to get to know them.
In both English and Individuals and Societies we have studied important aspects of the subjects, including the key and related concepts and assessment criteria.
In English we have started an unit investigating myths and legends. We have discovered the conventions of myths and seen how myths are different from legends, fables, fairy tales and folk tales. At present students are working in groups and investigating creation myths from across the world. They will be presenting their findings on Monday.
In Individuals and Societies we are investigating the way historians work. We have seen how they find out about the past and how time is measured in different cultures. We are now working on timelines of their lifetimes; looking at personal/ family history and researching national and international events. Work will be presented on Tuesday.
