Grade 9 art students have just finished their unit on abstract art and acrylic painting. After researching a 20th-century abstract artist, students created their own original works that were asked to meet a number of specifications. The paintings had to use at least one method of abstraction, at least two acrylic techniques, and an identified color scheme. After several fun and relaxed painting sessions, everyone completed a self-evaluation that included key information about the artwork and their creative intentions.
