It has been so lovely to see everyone back online again for the start of a brand new year. The students have been really impressing me with their hard work and eagerness to learn.

LITERACY
Adjectives
We have been continuing to practise using adjectives to make our sentences as descriptive as possible.

Sam and Celia’s descriptive sentences.

We also have been practising describing scenes using both adjectives and similes.
Janna and Hussain’s description of photographic scenes.

MATHS
Chance and Data
We have been investigating the likelihood of different everyday situations using the language of chance.

Leah’s likelihood statements.

Chance – Fair and Unfair Game Spinners
We each designed our own fair and unfair game spinners and collected data to show the likely outcomes of each.
Ali and Joao’s fair and unfair spinner work.

UNIT OF INQUIRY – Weather
Weather Reporters
Sahil and Ahsan have done an outstanding job starting off our class weather report projects. Well done boys.

Water Cycle
This afternoon we started to explore the process of the water cycle. See if your child can explain the process to you and challenge them to use as many of the scientific words as they can.

S.T.E.A.M.
The students rose to the challenge of creating their own pendulums, using everyday items, to explore how the length of the string would affect the speed and rate of swing.
