Students are currently working on an essay where they answer the question: “Why was there revolution in Iran in 1979?” We began this assignment by looking at our notes and getting all long term and short term causes of the revolution into a jamboard. We then introduced the key concepts of causality and significance and how we might use these within our responses. Lastly, we looked a different ways in which we could organize our essay. Students then chose which organizational scheme worked for them and began rearranging the information in the jamboard to build an essay plan. Students are currently using their plans to write the final essay.
