Over the last few weeks we have been having great fun exploring maths in our classroom and out in the playground. We have been consolidating our counting up to 10 and learning strategies to count back down. We have been working together in small groups sequencing number mats using the class number line as reference. We practiced our fine motor skills by writing numbers and using play dough to show our knowledge of matching numbers to a quantity. We had some problem solving with matching puzzle parts and sorting by shape or colour. For measurement we consolidated our language of size and weight with open ended activities. All the students demonstrated strong knowledge and a variety of strategies to complete tasks.
