Students in grade 9 have been involved in an interdisciplinary unit looking at the Holocaust. One of our culminating projects has students researching a Holocaust survivor/victim and creating a suitcase for them that tells their story. Students will be writing journal entries on behalf of those survivor/victims as well as creating personal items based on what they discover about their person through research. The suitcase was inspired by the empty suitcases of victims that are still on display at Auschwitz Concentration Camp.
