Grade 9 students learned how Western abstract art began and how to make an ordinary, real-life object abstract using a variety of methods like cropping, extending lines, and using multiple viewpoints. They have been using acrylic to render their own chosen objects using whichever methods they would like to explore. On top of that, they have decided to add a color theory component, using color schemes such as analogous, split-complementary, or tetradic to give their work more harmony.
