This week we started our first biology unit in science! We started off by having a look at a biology experiment given to us by Mr.Mwita.
This experiment looked at how plants process sunlight into chemical energy. Specifically we were looking at pond weeds. Pond weeds transfer sunlight into chemical energy, we know they do this when they release oxygen. We conducted the experiment in test tubes so we could see this air being released. Each of us were put into groups and conducted this experiment in many different ways. This was because all groups changed a variable in the experiment, this meant some groups could be changing the water that was used or the lighting to various other things. In many of the photos you see here were are working on finishing off our reports where we explain our understanding of this experiment.
