We examined blocks, magnets, toys etc and identified different shapes. The students discovered similarities and differences in these shapes and decided to call them ” fat” shapes ( 3D) and ” thin” shapes ( 2D ). We took the ” fat” shapes apart and discovered that we can put a lot of ” thin” shapes together to make the ” fat” shapes.

We discovered that a rectangle can be used to make a cylinder and that 6 squares can be put together to make a cube. So we made ” Silly cylinders” and ” Crazy cubes”
