This week we started our new Unit of Inquiry about local animals. We looked at some toy animals and sorted them into 2 categories: the ones that they thought lived in Oman and the others that live elsewhere. The students believed animals like penguins, elephants and even lions live in Oman but not turtles! The next day we went outside to see if we could find any animals on the school grounds. The students believed they might see some elephants and tigers, and they even heard an elephant trumpet behind LC3, we went to investigate but we did not get lucky enough to see it. However, we saw lots of ants and caterpillars, some birds and a tortoise. The following day we reviewed our findings by sharing photos of the animals. Ms Celine shared her diving photos and sharks teeth with the students, much to their amazement.
