Grade 7 students are investigating into causes and consequences with History, and we did an analysis of the “straw that broke the camel’s back.” They read the story about the camel Alphonse who, eventually after years of troubles, passed away from that one extra straw. They looked into the causes and consequences to see the different types of causes, and where they could possibly have prevented Alphonse’s demise. Students were really thinking during the discussion and were ready to save the camels for the future.
