Secondary students in Music and Visual Arts are exploring story telling. The elements of unity and contrast must achieve balance to create a satisfying experience for the audience. Grade 8 artists have used similar colour palettes and backgrounds to achieve unity across their storyboard. Grade 10 musicians, while composing a story soundtrack, have discovered ways to develop melodic ideas and move between closely related keys in order to create a sense of a whole work. Much like the visual artists, they have discovered ways of working with similar palettes in terms of chords and scales.
