After the Grade 12s had completed this experiment earlier in the academic year, it was now Grade 11’s turn to model the radioactive decay of an element using the foam on (non-alcoholic) beer. A mess was made, fun was had, and graphs were successfully plotted and interpreted.
Grade 9, prior to some revision for the upcoming end-of-year exams, investigated the transport of water through a celery stalk using a dye and then observed a cross-section of the stalk under the microscope.
Grade 8 had a quieter week and mainly focused on revision. They completed a circus of revision questions in pairs or groups of 3 – plenty of discussions were had and they are now pretty much ready for the end-of-year exam.
