Students in grades 8 and 9 are starting a project on virtual water, the water that is used to produce the products that we consume. Cleaning, showering, cooking, and flushing the toilet represent less than 10% of the water we use daily. Over 3000 liters of water is needed to produce the average person’s daily diet. Students will be researching, analyzing and representing data to help influence their daily choices regarding water consumption. Ask them to calculate how much water your family uses each day.
