This week students in grades 6, 7 and 8 have been completing an investigation on the angle properties of four sided shapes in circles, based on an activity I was introduced to on a course last week in Muscat. Students took to the activity very well and managed to establish a general rule regarding what we call ‘Cyclic quadrilaterals’, a concept that is not usually introduced until studying the IGCSE syllabus. Students in grade 7 also completed several examples of IGCSE style questions related to the concept, based on their new understanding.
