Dear parents,
Our Secondary students were delighted to have an article on their beach clean up featured in the ‘Times of Oman’ on December 16. Their write up of the project was printed exactly as they wrote it, which was very encouraging for them.
On Monday we had a special winter assembly, in which Grade 6, 7 and 8 students performed some musical pieces they have been working on. Today (Wednesday) we will join the Primary school for a festive and seasonal sing-along during period 6.
There has been a lot of activity so far this year in the Secondary School. Here’s a selection of some of the areas that our team has been working on:
1) Several new IGCSE subjects offered (moved from 6 subjects to 8/9 IGCSE’s subjects)
2) Improved our advisory system
3) Altered our timetable to better suit the learning needs of students
4) Introduced a new target setting system
5) Introduced CAS to the Secondary School
6) Evolved our after school activities programme
7) Moved into a new and more engaging learning environment
8) Introduced a careers guidance programme for Grade 9 and 10
9) Had our first inter- school sports tournament (TAISM Swim Meet).
10) Introduced new progress reports
We hope that all these changes will contribute to student development as well as raise achievement levels…
