Grade 9 English is peering into the book Spies, the IGCSE text that is our current focus in class. Part of our investigation into the novel includes the practice of collecting evidence and jotting down our interpretations and thoughts. To do this, our books have become covered in sticky notes, as we annotate our way through the book. As all good spies know, we have to log all of our information as explicitly as possible so that we can remember and synthesize the information. This is great practice for studying English literature, which, similar to spying, requires us to collect and synthesize ideas in order to identify patterns and meaning. We are enjoying the book and are very drawn into the mystery! Who is the spy, really? We are collecting the evidence and will find out!
