Grade 7 Advisory - Sifah Beach Camp

Mr. Cooper visited Advisory this week to share more details about the Grade 7 Sifah Beach Camp. As this will be the ONLY Grade 7 residential trip this year, we urge all families to sign the permission slips and pay the deposit next week. Thank you to the parents who have already completed this!

The trip has been purposefully moved to the end of November to take advantage of the most beautiful weather for what is essentially glamping! The entire set-up looks luxurious, and the programme is fantastic. Please take the time to review the brochure that came home with students, and don’t hesitate to get in touch with any questions or concerns.

Accommodation will be in large bell tents at our private Sifah Beach Camp. We want to stress that Grade 7 ABIS will have exclusive use of the camp, which is secured by a perimeter wall and fence. Please be assured that student safety and privacy are a top priority: boys and girls will be housed in separate tent areas, and male/female and student/teacher bathrooms are clearly separated.

In PSHE this morning, students watched a very moving video on Cyberbullying. We began the session by asking how many had experienced bullying; every hand in the room went up. When we asked about cyberbullying, few hands were raised—but after clarifying what cyberbullying can involve, every hand went up again. This was a powerful moment.

The discussion was incredibly insightful, and students were given clear strategies for what to do if they are a victim or witness of bullying. This session led us back to the Essential Agreement students created earlier this year—specifically the first two points. It served as a crucial reminder that we must support each other, reinforcing the lesson on empathy we began in Grade 5.
