It’s hard to believe this was only a four-day week! Everyone seems to be settling into the new routines of MYP, and self-management skills are really starting to develop (as they must!) in order to keep up with the increased workload and the challenge of navigating new subjects, teachers, and learning spaces. We are very proud of how our students are rising to these challenges. Of course, a big thank you also goes to the parents who are making the extra effort to ensure students arrive well before 8am, ready to hit the ground running. This is especially important as the first 20 minutes of the day is our Advisory time, during which we have so much to cover.
We ended the week with our Service as Action (SA) coordinator, Mr. Camilo, checking in with students to ensure that their SA choices were entered into ManageBac. It is now time for the activities to begin and for students to start collecting photos as evidence of the service they have chosen to undertake in Semester 1. The learning objective for Grade 7 students is to undertake challenges that develop new skills, and they will need to demonstrate the new skills they are building through their chosen activities. (Once again, thank you, parents, for supporting your children with their choices—and please do help them take photos if needed!)
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!
Best wishes,
The Grade 7 Advisory Team
