This week, our young learners embraced their role as principled gardeners, getting their hands dirty while planting beans and flowers. As knowledgeable and reflective thinkers, they explored what plants need to grow, made predictions about their development, and took responsibility for their care. Each day, they ensured their plants received enough water and sunlight, demonstrating patience and perseverance as they watched for signs of growth.
In addition to planting, we also explored the seeds found in fruit. During snack and lunch, the children examined the seeds in their fruit and collected them for our nature table. This hands-on experience helped them make connections between the food they eat and the plants that grow around them.
Seeing our caring students nurture their plants with kindness and dedication has been wonderful. We are excited to continue observing their progress in the coming weeks!
