Last week, we started a new unit: “How We Organise Ourselves.” In the coming weeks, we will explore how people in a community work together to meet the needs and wants of that community.

We began with the question: “Who and what do we find in a community?” The children drew their ideas, which led to wonderful and meaningful discussions. One of the students came up with the idea to create a map of Sohar. This week, we have been enthusiastically working on it! The map already includes familiar places such as ABIS, Lulu, the hospital, the police station, and the mosque. Once The Map of Sohar is complete, I will share more photos.

In addition to our inquiry into the community, we have also been learning in other areas. In math, we are practicing the automation of subtraction facts, and in writing, we are focusing more on creating our own stories. To bring more structure to this, we have been working on grammatical sentence construction, including nouns, verbs, and adjectives.

Below, we are happy to share some pictures to give you a glimpse of our week!
