Dear Parents,
Another exciting week has come and gone in Grade 6. We are officially at the halfway point of the PYP Exhibition.
This week we have been…
- Creating Google Forms to collect data and different perspectives about our inquiry
- Building up our academic language that we need to use to express our learning
- Analyzing the central idea ‘The way we communicate can influence and impact others’
- Starting to develop dynamic second lines of inquiry that will lead us into a more hands-on/active phase of our inquiries
- Reflecting on the impact of AI on making difficult texts more accessible in our inquiry (photos below)
- Pondering the Research ATL skills and reflecting on how we can improve (see Seesaw)
- Looking at different ways that 2D shapes can be transformed on a 4 quadrant axis (in mathematics)
For a bit of fun this week – please click on the link below. As part of the student’s work into academic language, they each picked one tricky word and created a ‘1 Truth & 2 Lies’ game. Can you spot the correct definition? This might be a fun activity to look at as a family. Link
A big thank you to parents for helping their students with additional work they are doing at home, extra resources that they need and for asking your child lots of questions about their Exhibition.
Have a great weekend,
Matt
