Dear KG2 Families,
We are excited to share the highlights of this week’s activities with you!
This week, our focus was on the number 6. We introduced it with the rhyme, “Bending down to pick up sticks, that’s how I make a number 6.” It’s been wonderful to see the children writing numbers, one by one, like a fun poem. To reinforce the concept, we engaged in different activities, linking the number 6 with hands-on learning. We also began building the concept of grouping with the number 5, and we’re continuing to practice this with various objects.
In literacy, our focus was on the letter “P.” The children learned the letter name and sound through interactive activities. They built the letter with pom-poms, shaped it with playdough, and were thrilled to create art projects like “Pizza” and “Panda.”
In our Unit of Inquiry, “Who We Are,” we focused on the learner profile attribute *Communicator*. The children learned what it means to be a good communicator and practiced by talking to their partners and sharing things about themselves. They also drew pictures of themselves and their friends, beginning to explore similarities and differences between them.
