It may have been short, but this week in 7LA/I&S was one of our busiest. We have been working intensively on our Communication and Self-Management AtL’s. As student’s worked to act on feedback, and ensure they have submitted all their formative assessment tasks, they were paying explicit attention to time-management and task focus stamina. We spent some time looking at examples of students’ completed work and, using each assignment’s success criteria, we conducted some peer assessments. Students then used this feedback to do one last review and redraft of their work.
In between all this, we sequenced and built an historical timeline as part of our inquiry into how history plotted in a visual way. In preparation for next week’s Summative Assessments, we also did some group work around 5-keywords/concepts which will be part of the assessments; Events, Sequence, International, National & Personal.
I think G7 LA/I&S have earned the long weekend, but they will need to keep their eye on the prize. Next Sunday we will hit the ground running with higher expectations and shorter time-frames.
