This week we started our new unit, Who We Are, focussing on body systems. The students started by labelling parts of the body and talking about the organs inside our bodies.
The students took part in some exercises and then wrote a shared reflection about what happened to their bodies. Then they asked questions that they would like to find out about. Why do we do exercise? Why do our hearts beat faster? Why do we get tired when we do exercise? Does exercise help other parts of our body? These are all great questions that we will investigate next week.
Part of the unit talks about being balanced and the students already have some understanding of how we can do that to keep our bodies and minds healthy.
