WEEK 4

Dear Parents and Families of KG2,

We continued with our  unit of inquiry – ‘How We Express Ourselves’ – this week, focusing on our emotions/feelings and different ways that they are expressed.  This week we briefly discussed what makes us feel surprised, bored, tired, proud and nervous.

In literacy this week we formally introduced our new phonetic sound – ‘t’ – and learnt a song about tennis to remember what sound the letter ‘T’ makes.  We identified whose names started with ‘T’ and whose names contained the letter ‘t’, we also tried to think of animals that start with the letter ‘t’ (turtle, turkey…) and how to write the letter ‘t’ correctly.

We also continued practicing writing our names correctly, focusing specifically on what letter comes next in our names and how to correctly form each letter in our names.

In numeracy this week we focused more on the value of numbers from 0-20, using words such as ‘more’ or ‘less’.  We continued learning the correct formation of each number, specifically the number 2 this week.  We learnt a rhyme to help us write the number 2 correctly.

Have a great weekend 🙂

Warm regards,
