WEEK 3
Dear Parents and Families of KG2,
We introduced our unit of inquiry – ‘How We Express Ourselves’ – this week, focusing on our emotions/feelings and different ways that they are expressed. We discussed what makes us feel happy, sad, angry, shy and nervous.
We continued practicing writing our names correctly, focusing specifically on the correct formation of each letter in our names.
This week we formally introduced our first phonetic sound – ‘a’ – and learnt a song to remember what sound the letter ‘A’ makes. We identified whose names contained the letter ‘a’, which objects in our classroom start with the letter ‘a’ and how to write the letter ‘a’ correctly.
We worked on identifying different numbers up to 50 and introduced learning how to form (write) each number from 0 to 10 correctly by learning different rhymes for each numeral.
