This week, we talked about something important called social responsibility. We asked questions like, “What if everybody dropped their backpack in the hallway?”, “What if everybody is talking at the same time?”, and “What if everybody dropped one soda can on the floor?” Our students figured out that we all should be responsible for what we do, and making agreements can help us do that.

I also read a book called “How Full Is Your Bucket?” to the students. It taught us that everyone has an invisible bucket inside them. When your bucket is empty, you feel sad. But when it’s full, you feel happy. Bad feelings take drops out of your bucket, but good feelings add drops to it. Our students discovered that when they do something nice for someone else, it’s like putting a drop in that person’s bucket, but it also adds a drop to their own bucket. This got our students thinking about the rules and agreements we want to have in our class.

It’s been a great week of learning, and we’re happy to see our students understanding social responsibility and how being kind can make everyone feel good. You can talk about these things at home to help them learn even more.

Thank you for your support.
