Our 9th graders are ready to start their journey into IGCSE English language and literature. They are ready for the challenge, if perhaps a little nervous. We have started our literary journeys by going “Blackberry Picking,” reading the poem by Seamus Heaney. While our journey won’t (alas) include any real blackberry picking, the poem has really made us feel the experience, and we are practicing our analytical skills to see beyond the words to the deeper meanings.
