HL DP History students are working hard to finish with their last unit of instruction. The unit focuses on Japan during the years 1912-1990 and will culminate in a Paper Three assessment. Topics include the impact of WWI on Japan, the Taisho democracy of the 1920s, the move towards militarism and nationalism during the 1930s, international events from 1931 to 1945 including the Second Sino-Japanese War and WWII in the Pacific, the post-war U.S. occupation of Japan, and economic recovery during the second half of the 20th century. Please encourage students to finish the course in strong fashion and to begin revising for IB exams in May.
