We are almost there. We started our last unit of the DP English program this week. After reading five different novels, studying six non-literary texts, writing the higher level essay and practicing both the individual oral and the paper one, we have now started the final text of the course. For this final text, we are reading Jamaica Kincaid’s non-fiction essays titled A Small Place. A series of reflections about her home country of Antigua rife with condemnation of the corruption and a deep exploration of how we change depending on our situation.
Through this text, we will explore how our group belonging shapes our perceptions of the world.
