Next Thursday, April 23, Germany will go on trial. The charges: being mainly responsible for starting the First World. That war shattered the world and ushered in the second world war and our modern era of cynicism. Over 20 million people died in a war caused by a complex web of events. But who was the main cause? Germany? England? Another country?
This trial will be played out by Grade 9. Students will play the roles of lawyers and witnesses for both the prosecution and the defense. After studying the causes of the war, Grade 9 now gets the chance to show off what they’ve learned in an active, spontaneous way. And you’re invited to watch.
Next Thursday, beginning at 11:40, the trial will take place in the SLS. You are all invited to attend.
