This week the K1 students are continuing to make healthy choices with the foods they are eating. They are continuing with their Rainbow Warriors food chart which is encouraging them to eat healthy foods. In circle time they are still sorting foods into likes and dislikes. They are learning to ask each other questions and explore new language. Daily they count how many children are in each group and look at which is the biggest and smallest.

In Art the students have been practicing their still life again by painting foods. They are also exploring texture by making rubbings. Later they will cut them up to make collages of their names. We have started to reflect at the end of each day on the activities they have enjoyed and what they have learned.

Finally two charts have been sent home to help include our families in this unit of inquiry. We would very much appreciate you participating in the activities with your child and send photos into school for them to present to the other children. A big thank you to everyone for a wonderful busy week.

From the library; Please take the time in the next few weeks, or during the upcoming winter break, to look through your bookshelves and children’s rooms for any ABIS library books. They may have ABIS stamps inside or out, an ABIS barcode on the back cover and/or a library spine label. Thank you.
