This week during our unit of inquiry and the Transdisciplinary Theme of how we organize ourselves we learned about the prehistoric art found in the caves of Lascaux in Dordogne, France.

Discovered in September 2019 by 4 boys and a dog, the artwork in Lascaux is known as the Sistine Chapel of Prehistoric Art. This week we learned about the set of circumstances that led to the caves rediscovery, and we read about how prehistoric art can teach us about early man.

Finally this week, we took a virtual tour through the Lascaux cave. If you have time during the long weekend, I welcome you to do the same. You can visit the caves by heading to this website. Unfortunately the website does not support iPad viewing and will need to be explored from either a PC or Mac.

Have a great long weekend….
