How well do you know your neighbor? Are childhood memories reliable? What is the significance of perception? Do different realities exist?
These are all questions that we’ll be answering as we read the first IGCSE novel of the course: Spies by Michael Frayn. Set in the present and England during the Second World War, the novel revolves around two boys and a discovery they make about the true identity of someone close to them. Mysteries and deception abound, but the question remains…is everything what it seems? This should be a tense start to our study of the Literature section of the IGCSE!
