All ABIS students were involved in Art Day yesterday, which focused upon an ‘Alien’ theme. Primary students worked in their classrooms and made wonderful creations ranging from ‘Alien Underpants’ (K1), to alien posters and sculptures. Secondary students, joined by Grade 6, were divided into four teams and given a shape each to define their work. One group used triangles, another squares, another circles, and one squiggles. Each group’s challenge was to create a large sculpture of an alien spacecraft and four alien landscapes each. The attached images will give you a taste of their amazing productivity if you were unable to see the exhibition this morning.
An enormous amount of energy went into the many different creations, some of which we were sadly unable to preserve due to their size and our own ‘space’ limitations, no pun intended. You may see some alien lifeforms around the school over the next few weeks. Though you will know what they are, it may appear that we have been invaded to anyone visiting the school.
Thank you to Mr Hampton and Grade 11 for coordinating and leading this fabulous event.
