This week we have been exploring our environment and the equipment that is available to our students. We slowly introduce new activities so the children can safely do their own inquiries into how things work. We have been working together in the art room to make wonderful art and science spaces. The students have had great fun assisting in the making of these areas.
Working together is a very important skill which we are focusing on these next few weeks. We are exploring appropriate behaviour and caring hands. It’s important for the students to understand that we are all different but we need to safely share the same space. They are making solid progress and are starting to develop their sharing and team work skills in the classroom and successfully use the equipment together.
In Art we have had great fun mixing colours and hand painting. For Maths we have been sorting by colour and looking at patterns. In language we have been talking about our student agreements on how we behave towards others with our caring hands. We have also been sharing songs and reading lots of books together. Finally for our unit of inquiry we have been exploring light and colour. This week we have a new teaching assistant joining us called Ms Taif she is full of enthusiasm and loves mixing with the children. Week 4 has been a great success and thank you parents for all your support.
