The Grade 4 students are currently investigating energy sources and the difference between renewable and non-renewable sources of energy. This has naturally led to a discussion about pollution, which fitted on well with our new shared book. It is Sigh of the Seahorse, by Graeme Base. It is a book of note because the exquisite paintings which illustrate the book and the rollicking verse which makes up the story are both done by Graeme. What is the sign of the seahorse? What is making the reef sick and what does the evil Groper have to do with it? Will Pearl Trout and Captain Burt be able to save the day?
