This week Grade 7 and 8 have been studying some extracts from famous texts such as ‘Jane Eyre,’ ‘Wuthering Heights’ and ‘Great Expectations.’ We have been trying to get a sense of what life was like in nineteenth century and how attitudes and language were different e.g. the treatment of children. The class worked in small groups, each looking at a different text before giving a presentation on how different narrative elements were used and what they noticed about Victorian contextual factors.
