What an adventure on the high seas it has been! This year’s musical, Lady Pirates of the Caribbean, was a dream come true because for years we’ve wanted to do a pirate-themed show. With such a strong female cast (and our two faithful gents!), it only made sense to jump at the opportunity to finally realize our pirate-filled dreams!
Putting together a show is no easy task – there were lost voices, hot-glue-gunned fingers, tired dancing feet, and exhausted brains from memorizing lines – but the end result is always worth it. A show is always much more than just the actors on the stage, since without the tech, props, backstage, and directing crews the performance would be rather bland, but the actors this year went above and beyond with pulling the show together. And my word, they should be incredibly proud of themselves!
All of the hard work has more than paid off with a top-notch show full of rousing choral numbers and hilariously silly jokes that have had the audiences rolling in their seats. With three full shows – including a completely sold out matinee! – one thing is clear: we have some incredibly talented students. Congratulations on a job well done, Lady Pirates crew! Arrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!
