This week Grade 9 mathematicians were making video tutorials. Their task was to explain the process and how to think when changing from a recurring decimal to a fraction. In the future, at the end of every unit, they will be creating a bank of tutorials for differing topics they have covered. When they enter a revision period they have a useful resource to look back through. As this was their first try they will be giving each other constructive feedback to decide as a group what makes a simple and effective tutorial.

The task also got made them more aware of how they learn a topic and how they could communicate their understanding. It also made them more aware of the group dynamic and that people learn in different ways.
